In Rural Tamil Nadu, Growing Old Can Mean Becoming Invisible

Many elderly men and women are left without family support, stable income, access to healthcare, or even basic dignity. Government pensions are minimal and often inaccessible. Chronic illnesses such as diabetes, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease frequently go untreated.

Too many elders spend their final years in loneliness, sickness, and neglect. Traditional family systems are weakening under severe economic hardship, leaving vulnerable seniors with nowhere to turn.

Temporary relief is not enough. No human being should spend their final years in fear, hunger, or isolation.

After witnessing this suffering firsthand through our Poor & Needy initiatives in Tiruvannamalai, one truth became clear: we must build a permanent solution.

Our Vision

The Amma Anbu Old Age Home at Arunachala (AAA) is a permanent and compassionate solution.

We are building a free, lifelong residential sanctuary for 50+ destitute and abandoned elders — a place where they will be safe, respected, and cared for with dignity.

Our mission is simple yet profound: To restore dignity, independence, identity, and a true sense of belonging to elders who have nowhere else to go.
