Nutrition Awareness: World Food Day Celebrated at Shanthimalai Schools

On a bright and sunny Thursday morning, Shanthimalai Schools came alive with enthusiasm as students from preschool to Grade 9 gathered to celebrate World Food Day and learn about the importance of healthy eating and food appreciation.

The youngest learners from the SRM and SSA schools expressed their creativity by painting fruits, vegetables, and farms. Through these fun and colourful activities, they learnt in a playful way about where food comes from and why it is essential for growth and well-being.

Senior students actively participated by designing eye-catching posters with strong messages such as “Say No to Junk Food” and “Eat Fruits and Vegetables for Your Health.” These activities encouraged them to reflect on their own food choices and promote healthy habits among their peers.

In the afternoon session, students from Grades 6 to 9 delivered short talks on balanced nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and respect for food. Their presentations highlighted the value of nutritious food and the importance of reducing food waste.

The celebration of World Food Day at Shanthimalai Schools successfully inspired students to adopt healthier eating habits and develop a lifelong appreciation for food and nutrition.

Healthy food today, healthy future tomorrow.
